Interlude (2009)
Video Installation 14'00"
2x HD DVD Video PAL 4:3 with no sound
Variable size
The installation Interlude consists of two boxes, each measuring 2,5 x 2 x 2 meters. All sides are covered with black MDF, except of the two sides facing each other. These sides show two different video projections behind a glass pane. The distance between the two boxes is approximately one meter, giving the audience the possibility to stand in between the two projections.
The images show different landscapes by using two cameras simultaneously. By pointing the cameras in opposite direction of each other, the viewer is positioned on the fringe; a place that does not exist. The cameras move slowly trough the landscape, giving the audience the sensation of traveling along a 'zero point'.
